Joanna, one of the 180 or so Drive Boomer Update newsletter readers, has done a important job getting her air conditioning cost beneath control. She uses space blankets to observe the solar heat out of the windows and set her thermostat up squiffed.

Recently she asked me what else she could do to cut her summer mores electric bill. I started editorial her a long e-mail answer then reasoning I would make it a blog assignment instead.

My answer to her looked like this:

I don’t have knowledge of what appliances you use or how you are billed so my warning is in the Socratic method of asking questions to advice you toward answers that accord your situation.

Do you have an energized water heater?

Is it set at 120 degrees or quieten?

Do you do the laundry in cold or warm be unbelievable, never hot? Link
