Across from the "Well-spring" was a door that led to a big 18 X 20 foot "woodshed" stacked comprehensive of hardwood and kindling wood. The hallway door opened and led into a big, about 24 foot by 30 foot chamber, in the center of the room was a HUGE " round Oak "Woodstove. Neatly in rows were 6 rows of unintelligent and metal desks, complete with "Ink Wells" and pencil grove and not a chip or carving on top of them until you lifted up the desktop and there were the names, carved, scratched, penciled in. In the fa was one huge desk where the Schoolmaster set.
The rows were set up by age, youngest in the center looming the stove, older kids on the outside, classes Kindergarten thru 8th standing were all taught at once.
